Mar 11, 2024

This week, on Wednesday, the Governance cluster will answer questions in the National Assembly.

The cluster consists of: the Minister in The Presidency; the Minister in The Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation; the Minister in The Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities; the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs; the Minister of Public Service and Administration.

Ms C.M. Phiri (ANC) will ask the Minister in The Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, what steps has Brand SA taken to counter negative publicity, particularly in a time of disinformation and biased reporting?

Adv M.R.M. Mothapo (ANC) will ask the Minister in The Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Maropene Ramokgopa, what mechanisms does her Office have to monitor the implementation role of the private sector, as a significant number of economic development programmes are dependent on private investment for the realisation of policy objectives entailed in the National Development Plan?

On committee level, attention will be given to the Companies Amendment Bill by the Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Economic Development, Small Business Development, Tourism, Employment and Labour. The Bill, among other goals, aims to differentiate where the right to gain access to companies’ records may be limited, and to provide for the preparation, presentation and voting on companies’ remuneration policy and directors’ remuneration report.
