Monday – 11 August 2025
- Stats SA will publish the Manufacturing: Production and sales, June 2025 report at 13:00. This is a key economic indicator report.
- The National Assembly (NA) continues its constituency period while the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) begins its constituency period today. Parliament resumes on 1 September 2025.
- The Constitutional Court is scheduled to hand down a judgment in the matter of Mutsila v Municipal Gratuity Fund and Others. The case concerns the interpretation of the Pension Funds Act and the equitable distribution of death benefits.
Tuesday- 12 August 2025
- Stats SA is set to publish two reports today at 11:30: the Mining: Production and sales, June 2025 report and the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) for the second quarter of 2025.
- The Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Maropene Ramokgopa, will hold a media briefing on the South Africa’s Development Indicators Report 2024.
- A meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on the National Dialogue, led by Deputy President Paul Mashatile, is scheduled for 14:00. This meeting is a key preparatory step for the upcoming National Convention.
Wednesday- 13 August 2025
- Stats SA will publish the Retail trade sales, June 2025 report at 13:00.
- Briefing by South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and DSD/SASSA on the impact of the expiry of SASSA and Postbank Master Service Agreement (MSA) at the end of September 2025.
- Final day to comment on the Draft Mineral Resources Development Bill.
Thursday – 14 August 2025
- Stats SA will publish three reports today: the Residential Property Price Index Report at 09:00, Wholesale trade sales at 10:00, and Motor trade sales at 11:00.
- The Portfolio Committee on Health continues public hearings on the Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Control Bill. Submissions will be heard from organisations including the World Health Organisation and the Cancer Association of South Africa.
- The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) business confidence index statistics for July are set to be released. This is forecast to rise from 117 in June to 120 in July.
Friday – 15 August 2025
- The First National Convention of the National Dialogue is set to begin in Pretoria, running until 17 August.
- President Ramaphosa, along with 3 Ministers, have been given until today by the Sakeliga lobby group to intervene in the collapse of the Ditsobotla municipality in the North-West province.
- The AU-AIP Africa Water Investment Summit, which began in Cape Town on 13 August, concludes today. The event focused on securing investment to address the continent’s significant water investment gap.
