This week in Parliament, the National Assembly enters its Constituency Period (7–17 April), while the National Council of Provinces continues with key committee meetings focused on fiscal oversight, public infrastructure, and social development.

On Tuesday, the Select Committee on Finance will be briefed by the Auditor-General and National Treasury on the performance of provincial treasuries and their entities. The Select Committee on Public Petitions and Executive Undertakings will consider a progress report on commitments made by the Minister of Water and Sanitation.

On Wednesday, the NCOP Select Committees will meet across several fronts: Economic Development and Trade will hear from the Film and Publication Board on harmful online content; Public Infrastructure will consider negotiating mandates on the Marine Oil Pollution Bill; and Appropriations will receive a briefing from the Parliamentary Budget Office on the Division of Revenue, Appropriation, and Eskom Bills. Committees on Security and Justice and on Social Services will review departmental plans and service delivery performance in key sectors.
