Parliament is currently in a one-week constituency period, with its annual leave period from 18 December 2023 to 05 January 2024.
However, a few committee meetings are scheduled for this week. Largely, committee time will be spent on the National Nuclear Regulator Amendment Bill. The Bill aims to authorise the Regulator to perform additional regulatory functions, as well as to provide for additional powers of inspectors, and to provide for financial provision for costs associated with safe rehabilitation or decommissioning of nuclear facilities.
