Parliament has indicated that Portfolio Committees will be restarting on Tuesday, 30 January 2024. Over the next two weeks a number of meetings for Portfolio and Select committees have been scheduled.
This week sees consideration of two Bills regarding Public Service and Administration. The Public Administration Management Amendment Bill aims, among other goals, to provide clarification regarding the prohibition against employees conducting business with organs of the state; the Public Service Amendment Bill provides for an augmentation of the role of the relevant Director General as well as clarification on the role of the Public Service Commission in respect of grievances.
