It is a busy week in Parliament with a full programme scheduled.
The National Clouncil of Provinces will spend time on the Eskom Debt Relief Amendment Bill and the Cannabis for Private Purposes Bill.
The National Assembly (NA) will consider the Copyright Amendment Bill and a Report on the Bill by the Portfolio Committee on Trade, Industry and Competition. The Bill aims to allow for further limitations and exceptions regarding the reproduction of copyright works.
On Wednesday the Ministers in the Security Cluster will answer questions put to them by members of Parliament.
On Friday the NA will discuss the following topic, as put forward by Dr Manketsi Tlhape of the ANC – “Critical assessment of land reform and agrarian transformation in supporting small and medium-scale black farmers to ensure food security and growth in the agricultural sector.”
In committee meetings the Electricity Regulation Amendment Bill will receive attention this week. The Bill provides for new generation capacity and electricity infrastructure, as well as the creation of an open market platform that will allow for competitive electricity trading.
